Jaeho Kwon is a real estate and structured finance professional whose career has run through three of the world's major capital markets — Korea, China, and the United States. Over roughly eight years in Seoul's investment banking and asset management sector, he built a track record sourcing, structuring, and executing real estate financings and cross-border transactions, most recently as a senior manager leading a real estate financing team at a $7B-AUM asset management platform.
His path into finance began at the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China's Seoul banking department, where he arranged Korea's first syndicated interim mortgage loan by a Chinese bank — an early introduction to the mechanics of cross-border lending. He went on to spend four years at IBK Securities structuring U.S. real estate financings and fixed-income products for Korean institutional investors, several of whom were mobilizing capital into overseas real estate for the first time. That cross-border lens — matching Korean and Chinese capital to real assets and structures they hadn't previously accessed — has remained the throughline of his career.
Jaeho's international perspective was shaped early: a Chinese economy and trade degree at Hanyang University, an exchange year at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, and an early role in overseas business development connecting Korean suppliers to a major Chinese e-commerce platform. He is a native Korean speaker and professionally proficient in Chinese.
He is currently pursuing an MBA at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, where he serves on the leadership cabinets of the Private Capital, Real Estate, and Blockchain/AI clubs. His MBA work has centered on U.S. commercial real estate acquisition underwriting and on financing structures for employee-owned businesses — extending his structured-finance background into new asset classes and ownership models, with a growing interest in how technology and AI are reshaping underwriting and investment decision-making.
